For the sixth year in a row, Resurgence Brewing Company is searching for Buffalo’s Top Dog & Coolest Cat to be the faces of their new summer brew! One dog and one cat will win the opportunity to be featured on Resurgence’s new summer brew can and be named Buffalo’s Top Dog & Coolest Cat by entering the “Resurgence to the Rescue” pet photo contest!
All proceeds from the contest will benefit Nickel City Canine Rescue and Akron Rescue Cats! The winners of the photo contest will then be invited to the “Resurgence to the Rescue” pet-friendly party on July 26, 2026 to celebrate the special can release and raise crucial funds for homeless animals.

The public can enter their pets from now until 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, April 24, 2026. There is no cost to enter your pet. Each vote is $1 of which will go directly to Nickel City Canine Rescue and Akron Rescue Cats. The dog and cat with the most votes at the end of the contest will be named the winners. Please enter only one pet at a time.
This contest has helped us raise $200,000 over the years saving the lives of dogs and cats in Western New York!
Prizes for the winners include your pet’s face on a Resurgence beer can, a celebration party for your pet on July 26 at Resurgence, possible television appearances, a billboard, and a photo shoot with Tailor Mayde Dog + Pet Photography!
